Fringe is totally a personal choice,
and invariably you like someone else’s best.
However, we have found that there is a balance between
how many pounds are weighing down the wearer’s
neck and a delightful and flowing finish to the
bag. Fringe seems to work best when it is not too
tight and has heavier beads at the bottom. It flows
most nicely when done in roundish seed beads rather
than the more tubular Delicas. We routinely use
size 15 Japanese seed beads (they have large even
holes for their size) that color-match the Delicas
for our straps and fringe. However, we still do
the small one to three bead color accents in Delicas,
because it is economical and does not harm the work
flow.
